A cave, a mountain, and a cathedral

After a hectic morning of packing our things, loading our vehicles, and cleaning the church, we headed out for a double-dose of fun: exploring the caves that lead to Ruby Falls below Lookout Mountain and wandering through the surreal tourist trap known as Rock City. The rain didn't bother us much underground, but once we reached the top of the mountain and put on our ponchos it was clear that we would not "see seven states" as Rock City advertises.

The youth were promised a "mystery stop" on the way home for our picnic lunch and closing devotional, and no one managed to guess that we would be stopping at the University of the South in Sewannee (imagine that). We enjoyed our lunches in front of a cross at a scenic overlook on the edge of campus, then went into the amazing chapel at the university for our final devotional. From there it was a straight shot home, where it felt nice to chill out and climb into our own beds at last.
